About the Webmaster
My name is Michele Everett.
I began homeschooling in 1982 while living in the Middle East where basic materials and English resources were scarce. Through that experience, I learned that education doesn’t have to cost a lot to be effective. When we moved back to the United States in 1986, we continued homeschooling although we didn't know anyone else that homeschooled at the time. Eventually I found other LDS homeschoolers in my area and served as the leader of a local support group for 14 years. I organized homeschooling seminars and conferences, and moderate a statewide email support group, a news list, and an LDS copywork list. I also write a blog where I share excellent audio resources.
I don't have any formal training in education other than what I accomplished through experience, practice, personal study and Church callings. I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and began teaching early morning seminary in 2000. I live in Southern California where I enjoy the museums, the concerts, the shopping, the beach, the freeways, Disneyland, and of course, the weather. My hobbies include listening to audio books, walking, traveling, and counted cross-stitch. |
